I’ve had a few people question who I am…why am I doing this event
– and how long I have been “in the business.” Well guys, I am just a girl who had a dream! Indianapolis
New Year’s scene has been dismal the past few years…very few events that are out-of-the-ordinary. I wanted to
do something special – something fun! Many of my friends have left town the past few years to go to “more exciting
destinations.” I figured if I created an event that was “fun”, they would stay here and we could all celebrate
together! Plus, I have a lot of out of town friends who have never been to Indy. I wanted a reason to get them here so I could
show off the beautiful city that I love soo much! Maybe then they will understand why I’ve made Indianapolis my home!
But
the inspiration to do the event this year came from a simple event calendar ad for a community garage sale. It was entitled
“For the Love of Lauren.” My curiosity got the best of me and I clicked on it. Up came a picture of the most beautiful,
angelic little blonde toddler…I read about how she was born in great health – but started getting sick. They
diagnosed her with a liver disease – and she had to have a liver transplant. When the first one didn’t take, she
had to undergo a second transplant. The story brought tears to my eyes. She and her family have been through so much…and
then there was Lauren’s smile. One picture shows her lying in a hospital bed hooked up to feeding tubes and monitoring
devices – yet she has a little smile on her mouth and a twinkle in her eye. This little trooper stole my heart! And
I knew I wanted to do something to help…to help her and to help the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.
That’s when my dreams and Lauren’s story came together and the Indianapolis New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball
was born.
Oh, and me – I am Danielle Beck. This event has made me realize that it is important to
live your dreams. And I thank each and every one of you who are making my dreams come true!! It is absolutely amazing to be
doing something that you love…and know that you are offering something that will provide people with a lifetime of
wonderful memories and “remember when” stories. I hope to be a part of many, many events of this nature as I continue
to grow my business, Blue Ink. Yes – another benefit of this event – I realized it was time to live my dreams.
I’ve left the corporate world to work on my marketing and business development company, Blue Ink, on a full-time basis.
It was time…and I kick myself for not doing it years ago. J
Live your dreams!! You won’t
regret it if you try…but you will regret it if you don’t try!
